Questions, answered
Everything you need to know before you book — from experience and age to what to wear and how refunds work.
Do I need any experience to start?
None at all for Core Bartending and Kids’ Mocktail. Craft Mixology and Flair are open to all levels, though they’re most rewarding if you already know your way around a bar.
How old do I have to be?
You must be 18+ to attend any class that handles alcohol (Core, Mixology, Flair, Private, Corporate). Most states require you to be 21 to serve on the job. Our Kids’ Mocktail class is for ages 8–15 and is fully alcohol-free.
What certification do I walk away with?
Every graduate earns a Pour House certificate plus job-placement help and lifetime free refreshers. We also prep you for TIPS® / ServSafe Alcohol®, the alcohol-server certifications most California employers expect.
What should I wear and bring?
Closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting a little wet. We provide all tools, glassware, and practice liquids — just bring yourself. A Pro Bartender Kit is available to take home.
Do you provide the alcohol?
Yes. We supply everything for class, including spirits for of-age courses and non-alcoholic practice liquids for flair drills. Nothing to buy or carry in.
What if a class is full?
Join the waitlist on the schedule page. If a seat opens we’ll offer it to you first, and you’re automatically rolled to the next available start date if you’d rather wait.
Can I get a discount for booking with friends?
Yes — book 4 or more students into the same class together and a 10% group discount is applied automatically at checkout.
What’s your refund policy?
The enrollment deposit reserves your seat and is non-refundable, but it’s fully transferable to a later class. The remaining balance is refundable up to 7 days before your start date. Full terms are on our Refund Policy page.
Where are classes held?
At our training studio in San Diego’s Little Italy, behind a full working bar. Corporate events can be hosted at your office or venue anywhere in San Diego County.
