What to Expect in Your First Bartending Class

Students practicing behind a training bar during a class

The most common thing we hear from people considering Core Bartending is some version of "I've never made a drink in my life." Good — that's exactly who the class is built for. Here's what your first session actually looks like.

You start behind a real bar

There's no lecture hall. From the first session you're standing at a working station with real tools, ice, and glassware. We walk through bar setup, where everything lives, and how a station stays organized during a rush.

You build drinks, not slideshows

Reading a recipe is one thing; building it with your hands is another. You'll make real drinks every session, and the repetition is the point — by the end of the course the well drinks become muscle memory.

Most of the room is new too

Classes are capped small (6–12 students) so everyone gets reps and direct feedback. You won't be the only beginner, and you won't get lost in a crowd. Ready to see it for yourself? Find your start date.
